Hunting and fishing in Cooperstown and Otsego County is a four-season pursuit. Otsego Lake, the region's centerpiece, holds brown trout, landlocked Atlantic salmon, walleye, and more. Book one of several GUIDE & CHARTER SERVICES available below.
A Cooperstown boat launch, plus public access at Glimmerglass State Park, put fish habitat within easy reach for anglers. Throughout Otsego County, ponds and lakes offer more chances to hook largemouth and smallmouth bass, rainbow trout, bluegill, and yellow perch. Come winter—if conditions permit—ice fishing happens on Arnold Lake, Canadarago Lake, Crumhorn Lake, Goodyear Lake, Wilber Lake, and Otsego Lake. Valid New York State fishing license required for participants over 16 years old.
