Otsego County is lush with artists who seek peace and the inviting, natural settings of the mountains and lakes. Many have homes and studios here in an attempt to escape the hustle and bustle of major metropolitan areas. As a result, art galleries are aplenty. The Fenimore Art Museum is quite notably the most famous, boasting a large collection of fine, folk, and Native American art. Much smaller in size, but equally as impressive, The Art Garage is a pop-up space with rotating exhibits free and open to the public (appointments available outside regular open hours).
