Boating in Cooperstown & Otsego County

At the eastern end of Cooperstown's Main Street, a bridge gaps a tree-lined river. Look north and you'll see the glimmering waters of Otsego Lake, which at 7.8 miles long is the largest body of water in Otsego County. Turn south, and the Susquehanna River rounds the first bend on its 444-mile journey to the Chesapeake Bay. These two waterways anchor Otsego County, but plenty more await boaters: look to Canadarago Lake and Goodyear Lake—plus smaller rivers, streams, and ponds—for more excursions by canoe, kayak, or motorboat, all available to rent from local providers. Ready to paddle the headwaters of the Susquehanna, the longest river on the East Coast, or simply want to cast a line on a glassy pond from your kayak? Start here.

Inquiries regarding a  public boat launch pass in the Village of Cooperstown on Otsego Lake, call (607) 547 - 2411 Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm.  1-Day - Seasonal passes are available by making arrangements in advance.
