Otsego County Shopping

Retail Revelry - From Bats to Boutiques

Of course, Cooperstown offers memorabilia of America's favorite pastime – but don't miss the antiques, arts and crafts, and other specialty retail shops on many of Otsego County's main streets.  Summer Sidewalk Season has been declared from Memorial Day to Columbus Day and includes September 7th and 8th (2021 Induction).

In the heart of the region, Cooperstown is home to numerous arts and crafts shops, boutiques, and numerous gift shops dedicated to baseball, including Seventh Inning Stretch and Mickey's Place. Baseball fans should also head to Hartwick to tour the Cooperstown Bat Company.

Three miles north of Cooperstown, Fly Creek is home to the eponymous cider mill and its marketplace full of culinary goodies, plus a starting point for the Cooperstown Beverage Trail. Stop in Milford for a growler to-go from Cooperstown Brewing Company, then stop for art and antiques at the Murdock & Murdock Gallery, Brooklyn Bridge Antiques, or Wood Bull Antiques.

Antiques—such as the new Butternut Barn—and fishing shops line the historic Richfield Springs Main Street, while multiple furniture and consignment shops can be found in and around downtown Unadilla.

Tiny Cherry Valley became an artist haven during the 1960s and '70s when beatnik poet Allen Ginsberg and others made the town home. Today's downtown includes shops such as the Plaid Palette—specializing in all things Scottish and Irish—Coco & Cordelia,  and the Cherry Valley Bookstore. Another artist enclave, the Village of Gilbertsville is home to Dunderberg Gallery and NY Goat Yoga.

From The Artisans' Guild to a massive music store and the Saturday Farmer's Market, Bohemian Oneonta is another epicenter for arts and crafts.
